The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 熟悉的快剪辑风格，最后的庭审戏还是挺燃的。

3.5，结构能联想到《十二宫》，索金显然从芬奇那里学到了很多。影像上营造的表现力显然高于事件本身，雕刻痕迹也更重。
最后海姆的庭上讲话让我热泪盈眶，不多言语，放弃自己可以获得减刑的机会，向世界表明自己的立场，即使是作为对方律师也站起身来表达对于死者的尊重。回到影片本身，在我看来更像是政治权益的搏斗，而七君子就是政治下的牺牲品，就像海姆自己说的那样，选举才是第一位，剩下的民主，正义都要往后放放。也同样就像艾比在证人席上的回应，他对于这个制度，机关部门喜欢的不得了，可他痛恨的是那些在这些机关部门里的人。即使是愿意出席的钱司法部长也是如此，他不是真的为了能够解救这7个人的生命，免去牢狱之灾，而是为了给新上任的部长看看，我虽然退了，但我还有点底气，跟你对着干的底气，只不过这个案子给了一个契机罢了。
如果说在这个背离真实的年代，有何可称之为良心的话，我想那只能是过去的发生过的良心——也即这部电影里重述的故事。
剪辑凌厉又伶俐，台词与场景之间的互文更是自带力量，共同构建起庭审、现场、回忆/讲述交错编织的叙事空间，历史影像在其中穿行无碍，是警铃，更是利刃，劈开时代的外衣剖心而来，历史何其相似，却又何其不同！
恭喜网飞拍出了一部美国版《辩护人》。我被感动，不是某种价值观又或者某种壮举，只是因为自己的懦弱。
