The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 熬过前一小时，后面惊喜不断。印度针砭时弊的片子也够大胆，而只有这样敢于反思，敢于自揭伤疤的民族，国家和人民才有希望和未来呀。

3.8吧。剧情是好的，后面反转好评，前面略拖拉。立意是好的，讽刺社会现象。但是细节处理的不好，特别是台词和过场。
同热评，这部剧包含了如此多的现实话题，让我惊讶，连印度片都这么敢拍了……真的厉害
PS.印度社会矛盾真的到了这种程度了么？如果在如此大的矛盾环境下，这样的电影能拍出来并上映，那印度政府的包容性真的值得点赞。
悬疑片，合格，不算太好，但，是我们的国产电影无法仰望的高峰。
首先夸配乐。大气又紧迫感十足。
全篇都是热血激情反转的bmg，故事拍的像MTV一样😂印度人很敢拍，仅此而已。
不得不承认，阿三和棒子一样敢拍敢放，对本国的政治体制，社会弊端可以批得体无完肤，种姓歧视、教育腐败、政治阴谋、媒体失责、舆论导向、社会不公、权力滥用这些人类社会逃不掉躲不脱的垢病你可以在一部电影里面都看个够。普通的谋杀案可以被政客利用，可以被民众误读，可以被舆论误导，人类的智慧的确就是会利用“工具”，乌合之众永远存在。而法庭上正义律师抽丝剥茧地丝丝入扣地揭开事件的真相这个反转设计得很高级，这让观众的思考可以更加深邃，电影本身的立意与内核顿时提升了一个档次。近3个小时的片子没有歌舞却能让人深陷其中，这相当考验创作方的能力。但阿三和棒子一样，虽然敢于自揭其短，但并不能改变现实，也不能推动社会的进步与发展，西方所推崇人口最多的“民主”国度其实依然摆烂，民众已经麻木，这样的片子出得再多也于事无补。
好电影，探讨的东西有点多，但又能做到不紊乱，很不容易。这种电影能过审，上映，就是胜利。
现实主义题材力作，直面多种印度社会问题，主角律师在法庭上的发言振聋发聩！虽然最终变成了复仇主题，但是瑕不掩瑜，这仍旧是一部非常有感染力的好电影！
这哪里是一部电影，简直就是一颗火种。被人家操纵还自以为是正义，大众沦为棋子，情绪被政治利用，容易被煽动的人群只顾闷头前行，却从不停下来思考。影片抽丝剥茧还原真相，剧情一波三折，高潮迭起，看的酣畅淋漓。不要总渴望别人恩赐，自己起来做舵手吧！
之前看过数次罗翔老师的那条视频“律师为什么为坏人做辩护”，看了这部电影终于理解其含义。一个律师，不仅站在群情激愤的对立面推进程序正义，甚至站在昏庸的法律体系、草菅人命的政治体制、遗害千年的种姓制度的对立面来推进正义。庭辩的精彩程度不如同类的几部神作，但整个电影的思想高度是我们难以望其项背的。
确实比国内敢拍，但也确实没拍好。演技生硬，节奏凌乱，庭审不合理，结局处理得乱七八糟。单纯羡慕别人啥都能拍
民意裹挟之下，何为真相？腐败的校园，阴暗的政治，法治的缺位。多重反转的结尾，何时社会才能真正民主
8.5 2022上半年看过的最好看的电影，没有之一。
一锅乱炖，乱炖一锅，为反转而反转，简直到了可笑的地步。密不透风的音乐哦，耳朵和脑仁儿被轰两个多小时。
首先，它有令人惊讶的反转，适当的带动情绪的BGM，引发观众思考的故事议题。
总体来说是（不必要的）内容大于形式的电影。
广场，学生，抗议，暴乱，镇压，政治，种族，性别，教育，人权，亲情，爱情，友情，全部浓缩在160分钟里面，无限反转，无限精彩。
