The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 3.5 美版罗生门，印象深刻的点：science used to say rape cannot get women pregnant, it's not even that long ago. 500 years is a short period of earth time, according to science.
看著茱蒂·科默那張韻味別緻的臉蛋，不時會讓人出戲去回味“小變態”詭異又捉狹的表情，只怪她在《殺死伊芙》裡表演的太經典了。
这不是罗生门，是屁股决定脑袋。马特达蒙演这样一介武夫气质上距离稍远，倒是本阿弗莱克演的皮耶差点没认出来。
确实有权游的即视感，虽然我也没搞懂为什么会豆瓣高分[晕]除了分三个人的独立视角重复同一个故事，就最后的决斗场面比较好看，前面叙事太慢…不想套女权，也不想扯罗生门，只是单纯的觉得，即使对同一件事，大家角色不同，立场不同，感受自然会不同，物理上解释“真相只有一个”，但实际上，针对同一个真相，里面还是千差万别的，没有谁对谁错，千篇一律就太无趣了
三個視角來論述同一件事，但三個視角幾乎沒有任何差別，感覺就是一段素材用了三遍。在 Me Too 運動浪潮持續在全球延燒的今天，這個文本對這個議題和女性的刻劃依舊非常表面，對瑪格麗特的勇敢和痛苦都非常非常的敷衍⋯⋯也不只是女性角色，所有的角色全都是只打了個草稿就拿出去拍的感覺。可惜了一個那麼好的故事了。
要说法有两个官方渠道：1选教会，对被告有利。2选王庭荣耀决斗，胜方代表真相，败方就是诬告还要被脱光烧死，800年前的古人就是这么愚昧这么笃信上帝必然保佑说真话的……博学精明的女主居然不了解当时的风俗，还声称不能让上帝决定自己和孩子的生死……女主想法太现代了，要是把女主自述挪到第一段，我会猜她女扮男装上演《威尼斯商人》智斗法庭，或者变身《杀死伊芙》的杀手……总之掌握自己的命运不靠上帝不靠男人……然而她只是怼怼怼。
旧瓶装新酒，只不过这新酒也没多少新鲜度了，主要是这个酒瓶太旧了，显得这酒喝起来有那么点味道。
故事还是很扎实的，不过三段的主观性本应通过视听表现，老雷这块儿有点儿行货那意思了。然而从思想性上，老雷八十多了可比某些年轻导演在平权上先进多了。
三颗星是对这个片子最客观的评价，你说它有什么不好，也并没有，质感不错，演得不错，但也完美诠释了哆啦A梦里野比那个经常出现的表情包：“特意把大家喊出来，就是为了这点儿事啊？”这片子内容平庸无趣到B站多如牛毛蹭热度的影视区UP主都没人有兴趣做一下，因为这片子没什么槽点，可也确实乏味到没什么东西值得讨论。悲哀的美国电影现在已经重新分成了三大类：装B，NC，无趣。不知复苏要等到什么时候。
在现代可能立案的机会都不会给，从正义伸张总有渠道的目标来看，还有个国王给大家一场公平的决斗，并且有让原告被告说谎的代价的制度，反而是挺含智慧的。比滴血认亲，比举证困难因此不立案的科学思维好的多。
很久没看过这么震撼的电影了，震撼不在于故事多么得不可思议，而是它真实得可怕，这也许能算是“借古讽今”吧？第三章是绝对的高潮，导演的目的达到了，决斗戏漫长血腥到让人如坐针毡，让人完全地共情了女主角。玛格丽特在剧中有多美丽，两个男人就有多丑陋。唯一的问题：他们怎么一个个能闭着眼管Adam Driver这张丑脸口口声声handsome？P.S.让我们来猜猜给低分的一般是什么性别？
蒙昧、宗教、令人厌烦的性、男人、血与禁锢；一个吃绝户的大老粗，一个风流成性的马屁精(四个不同的场景说他帅真的笑死我了）最恶心的还是司机的角色，幻想着她生活得水深火热，以爱之名行强迫之实傲慢又恶心，到死都不认为自己做错了，向上帝祷告也只是告解“通奸”，customary protest my ass，强迫一幕还和之前与大本两个炮友一起嫖的场面完全一致，no means fucking no！; the book of love是《爱经》么？餐桌一幕谈到女人和男人会爱两个时候的静默和大笑也很有意味
非常有趣而深邃的一部电影，当时的性关系是封建欧洲的等级（封臣与领主）关系的镜像，再次揭示力比多、ego与政治的隐秘纽带。
剧情依足OVA版该多好？回肠荡气的神开头和神结尾是多少人掉坑幕末的启蒙番啊，没有拍出来至为可惜。主题扣紧一个“情”字，佐藤健和村花都木讷了点，胜在外形完美吻合。质感十足的道具和服饰，巴的衣服再稍微粗糙点就好了，俩人过日子有点像过家家。系列唯一见血的杀阵，中间的几段看得人心旷神怡。日本剑戟片的狠辣写实与港式武打的翻腾灵动结合得水乳交融，想不到这桩大事成在谷垣健治手里。村上虹郎的总司造型太囧了，桂和高杉都好。

如果说《决斗的人》讲的是宿敌之恨化解于历史大义的故事，那么这部电影就毫无保留地戳破了这种“大义”，斯科特的中世纪也摒弃了《角斗士》里的返古浪漫主义，留下的只有泥泞、寒冷、一帮自私的男人和一个坚毅的女人。
第三段女主视角时我一度以为男主母亲是故意制造了女主独自在家的条件。。。
没想到现在还有大投资做这样的中世纪故事，好久没有看到这样的题材了，很喜欢。第一个故事讲到一半才想到，应该还有另一个男主的故事，第二个故事看到一大半，突然觉得女主的视角还会有，很喜欢这样捉迷藏的感觉。其实前两个故事下来，虽然不错，但总感觉和几十年前的叙事没什么区别，有点缺乏新意。最后一个故事才是让整个剧亮起来的原因。我们习以为常的英雄视角故事，在女性的角度来看竟是如此的反常。以至于最后竟然会觉得不过是两个半斤八两的货色在较量，还以为自己多么英雄豪气。而为此冒着名誉和生命的代价的女主没人关心她。不过女主在片尾好歹看到了一切，字幕顺利的送给了她荣华富贵，子孙满堂，再不用伺候男人的幸福下半生。虽然本片的格斗场面，并不是大头，但是场场让人热血沸汤，导演实力还在啊。
