Haunted by the memory of Walter Holderlin, a soldier he killed during World War I, French musician Paul Renard (Phillips Holmes) confesses to a priest (Frank Sheridan), who grants him absolution. Using the address on a letter he found on the dead man's body, Paul then travels to Germany to find his family.
As anti-French sentiment continues to permeate Germany, Dr. Holderlin (Lionel Barrymore) initially refuses to welcome Paul into his home, but changes his mind when his son's fiancée Elsa identifies him as the man who has been leaving flowers on Walter's grave. Rather than reveal the real connection between them, Paul tells the Holderlin family he was a friend of their son, who attended the same musical conservatory he did.
Although the hostile townspeople and local gossips disapprove, the Holderlins befriend Paul, who finds himself falling in love with Elsa (Nancy Carroll). When she shows Paul her former fiancé's bedroom, he becomes distraught and tells her the truth. She convinces him not to confess to Walter's parents, who have embraced him as their second son, and Paul agrees to forego easing his conscience and stays with his adopted family. Dr. Holderlin presents Walter's violin to Paul, who plays it while Elsa accompanies him on the piano.
The film's original title, The Man I Killed, was changed to The Fifth Commandment to avoid giving "wrong impressions in the minds of the public about the character of the story." It ultimately was released as Broken Lullaby.
挺不错的方言电影，没有国产电影的尬戏通病，是老百姓自己的日子。
三星半，十步杀一人，千里不留行，可惜琴娘回来送人头。就这么简单，回来就干三件事，公道，公道，还他妈的是公道
第一次看网大，但感觉超出预期。小成本的武侠片，故事情节简单但镜头语言十足，短小精悍。
必须有东西激一激这个平静的江湖了。
希望这类作品能越来越优秀。
虽然是一部网大，但做出了江湖气息和电影质感。情节是很传统的英雄救美，格外有着复古的侠气。很多运镜水平很高，谢苗的打戏也是干净利落，好可惜这么好的一位打星都没有红。
潮汕人总之又爱又恨了，但没办法前者肯定溢余了。
「外来媳妇本地郎」这种剧情其实还比较普通啦，只不过这种宗族意识的碰撞在潮汕地区尤为明显，而且全潮汕话的对白真的很接地气，看电影感觉就像在看老家人聊天一样。「妈妈」这个角色演得真好，很朴实很生活化。即希望儿子能够幸福自由，又不希望儿子被人嚼舌根，这种纠结演得十分到位。插曲配乐也相当有贴合，玩具船长的歌选得真好。
这是一部两极分化特严重的影片，美术，音乐，制景，服化基本上是一流化的，摄影，武打设计在二流中等水平，而编剧，导演，演员却在三流……而且这部影片看样子在网大里投资也不算小……
好座头市！以及，主演竟然是谢苗！我完全没看出来……
业余和粗糙却反而带来真实感和生活气息的观感挺舒服的片儿，亲情部分可圈可点，情感和妈妈的部分特别棒。爱情的兜兜转转反而狗血了点，但怎么说呢，也是某种真实吧，对“我们这些年轻人”而言。
剧本有点糙，就是一个网络爽文的水平，人物动机其实都经不起考验，不过好在短小明快，节奏不错，某些部分的设计也挺有电影感的，氛围渲染得挺足，动作设计也有看点，作为网大来说还算不错了。7.3
3.5。爽片。很有亮点。值得更有深度的剧情。
和去年的那部《硬汉枪神》类似：就拍摄制作而言感觉还不错，但影片本身还是没能让我很喜欢。★★★☆
冲突都是因为爱，然后又都回到了爱，有点李安早年的感觉了。Back to love，在很多时候妈妈就是Love的意思吧。
这样的故事在中国很多吧
谢苗可惜了，个人确实是锐意进取，奈何拿不到好资源只能常年在网大里打滚。继去年的东北版《致命武器》后又来部中唐版《座头市》。打戏非常流畅服化道运镜及格线以上就是剧本太老套，叙事和人物弧光不完整。这题材再打磨下可以更好的……
谢苗已经要演大叔了？不过演的太好了！好沧桑好沉稳，这不就是杀手不太冷！哈哈，那个女孩也选的挺好的，虽然后面眼神有点木，但前面好清新气质好干净。就是琴娘……真的好可惜。
有些时候真实不需要太大的美化，真实反而会得到青睐，在商业化时代，人际的没落时代。
其实整体比较普通，不过最后的vlog感镜头给我触动到了，7.0/10
