The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 每次看到丹泽尔和科恩嫂把内心戏用对白说出来，真的是尬的要死。
棚里拍摄，摄影还是强的，转场丝滑。
风格很好，很像伯格曼的第七封印。但没有新的东西。style over substance
【第一感觉打分】觉得别扭的不是丹泽尔的肤色，也不是他的口音，表演风格与其他演员有较大区别还是挺突兀的，最起码总是站不直走不直的，姿态上有些奇怪。最惊艳的还是女巫的老太，确实实力派。

剧本大概有10%～15%的小改编，但产生了巨大的影响。
有点伯格曼的意思，但舞台剧化电影不算是现代电影，人物环境剧情三要素只剩下了人物，即使再优雅的台词文本，再有张力的人物表演，也显得太形式主义，空有一副骨架。
另外，多加一星给摄影。
麦克白的黑白风格，别具一格！
当个有声书听听还凑合，非常厌恶大量使用黑人演员的政治正确，强行将角色赋予黑人破坏了观影乐趣。
唉看到star hide your fire的台词还是忍不住想听roll away your stone，确实是我最喜欢的贵团歌了。对莎士比亚改编我的感想基本是又欺负文盲不识字，虽然科恩大哥这版算很通俗易懂了，但还是看得费劲
尽管我确实是一个痴迷于风格化电影语言的人，但乔尔科恩这部转型之作实在难称满意，丹泽尔华盛顿和McDormand的表演确实很好，但在这种稠密层叠的黑白光影和A24画幅下，这两位老熟人实在难以搭建一场信服感强烈的莎翁对手戏。而剧本对于原文台词的保留，与通篇浓郁的后现代解构意味和极简置景之间，并没有做到气质上的想通，以至于全片浓郁的当代戏剧感完全压过了电影感，也许他希望观众从中能看到德莱叶，看到伯格曼，但很遗憾我实在做不到。
纽约电影节开幕片，见到了Joel Coen, Denzel Washington, Frances McDormand。坦白说台词几乎一句都没听懂，莎士比亚般的对白实在考验听力，而且这场好晚好晚，开头有点昏昏欲睡。喜欢打光和摄影，结尾的设计。这部真的没有太多“科恩”的感觉。
