The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 改编并不出彩，剧本对于事件现场和南非社会两个尺度下种族冲突的平行刻画都很肤浅，但看得出导演和编剧在质感和节奏上，有意努力模仿同经典的题材/同类型电影，这方面《血腥星期天》是标杆。作为一部中低成本时代背景电影，视觉还是很良心的，尤其是服化道。值得一提的是，前南非军队特战军人创设的G73 Tactical Advisors战术/安保机构为该片提供了警务指挥与战术顾问、演员枪械训练、警察特技群演、警用服装/装具、警用载具（包括直升机）。
为了释放一个被关了二十几年未闻世事的人，这个人后来搞垮了南非。。。说明没有文化的人当大官都很可怕哦。

刻意煽情，这种程度的所谓反抗是不能成事的。
故事的张力很大……可惜我看的时候很累，有点犯困
拥护信仰没有对错，但如果是存在对不同信仰的排他性，而在追求信仰的过程中滥杀无辜，就是罪恶的。
想着如果能了解一些也能多一些尊重
生命诚可贵，爱情价更高。若为自由故，两者皆可抛。所以自由的代价就是失去一切！
我不了解一个男同喜欢上女生的概率有多少 但从电影里看出的 安藤同学从压抑自己到拆下围在身边那堵墙到可以和周围的人融合 是个自我和解的治愈之路。

矛盾解决得太轻松……也许是因为前面已经很难过了，所以不能再这么难过下去。几度看不下去，bl融进更多东西，就变得全不浪漫，满是艰难。不过他俩好好看……
