The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 据说剧本原型是“红黄蓝”事件，刘循子墨是真的厉害，他什么都拍了又什么都没点破。所以剧情角度来说，我感觉这个本子是没有“真相”的，因为片尾的出现，表示最后五分钟的反转甚至只可能是一个超现实的“结局”。而所谓真相，在电影上映一刻，便交给观众自己去评说了。
提前离场了，心疼自己的钱。破例开了按摩椅（前排左右前后都没有人），不是靠着按摩我都撑不过前面一个小时。电影都被发明出来100多年了，前人的电影语言都已经进化到了何种地步，然而2021年大陆院线是这种作品，据说后面各种隐喻，我要看隐喻我干嘛去电影院呢，这年头已经畸形到了有隐喻口碑就上去了吗？？

台词电影，人物和空间的关系太混乱了，人物的变化是不可信的，叙事的反转和推进方法也是单一的。
确实超出预期，这种片子国内太少值得鼓励多一星是必须的，编剧有生活，本煜太棒了，这部电影出来，两位赶紧扬名立万吧。
7.5/10，一部佳作的诞生，毫无期待值看完却很惊喜说的就是这样的电影没错了。
情节老套没什么惊喜，但讲故事的水平不错没有太明显的bug，值得进电影院一看。

摄影很拉胯，明明大量内景却没拍出空间感，频繁且无意义的切换镜头真的很网大，不那么出色的剧本，扁平化的人物
子墨是真的爱本煜，本煜的表现也值得他这份爱。大反转之前还觉得不错啊，但是结局一下子就清醒了，各种问题也都冒出来了，子墨继续加油吧，别为了耍小聪明而耍小聪明。
这类影片属于否定影像独立叙事功能的看图说话型，表演给力的话可以极致一些做成十二怒汉那样，才有可看性。目前这样属于四不像，好在剧本反转设置得还行吧。不喜欢尹正。
小制作的场景剧，通过揣测的“剧本”和想象的“事实”两条线的碰撞，演员带着观众一起不断地推敲与反转，从而逐渐剥茧抽丝接近最终的真相。全程都非常引人入胜，每次感觉靠近真相了，又总发现缺失关键证据链，从赌债动机-杀人动机-不可逃脱的密室-分尸转移-为爱献身，每一个新版本都更深的走入人的内心，直至最终唤醒了大家的善，每个角色在最初都有明显的缺点或不足，但最后一致的善让大家蜕变与挣脱
英文片尾曲是爵士乐灵魂人物爵士乐大师路易斯阿姆斯特朗的《What A Wonderful World》。之前在罗宾威廉姆斯的《早安越南》里也曾出现过。大家也可以听一下麦可布雷的版本，就是很适合在家里跟爱人跳舞的那种曲子
牛啊！太他妈牛啦！本来以为撑死一场室内drama结果最后看得百感交集。编剧太懂我的点了，就知道是那句“掐灭火苗的人”，这不是什么年度神作，这个是和流浪地球一样进中国电影历史的作品

留白很多，当李家辉以为自己掌握了真相，或许是齐乐山帮他策划的真相，暗线在明线下隐藏，而暗线又有很多解读，很不错
哥几个最终还是拍了部烂片出来，也是蛮反套路的。
做得最好地方是温情和悬疑，倒不如完全放弃万合天宜搞笑那部分，整体还会有提升。不喜欢像《驴得水》一样完全放在极致情境里体现人性的电影，但设置在民国才能讲，就是时代的妥协，和去越南拍一样。观感可以给三星半。
到凶案现场跟凶手一起深挖凶案始末，是一个不错的剧本完成方式，也是还原现场最有效的途径，每个人都可以拼凑一个故事，供在场人探讨，把最合理的部分重新整合，否定一种猜想之后坐实另一种猜想，不断推陈出新使案件一点一点重现，然而真相依旧有所保留。
这片分数不应该比利刃出鞘高吗？剧情演技都赞。
