The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 温暖、浪漫的巴黎人故事，一切都被加上了美好的滤镜，即使他们的遭遇并不完全是幸福的，也不妨碍观众在其中得到的抚慰。

没有戏剧冲突，没有任何夸张，扁平化、按照时间顺序，平淡地展开。可是，表面上看似波澜不惊，却处处反映着生活的艰辛、逼真，以及生命的美好、幽暗，以及盛放。这样拍电影其实很好的，关于电影的东西——情感、故事、生活、导演的立论，以及留给观众电影之外的思考，全有了，而且平静如水。

我永远都会喜欢这种影像，困顿之中的温柔的力量。甘斯布仍然是这么迷人而有魅力。配乐实在太喜欢～
会是我今年的十佳之一。 可惜的就是看的时候是工作日晚上，我有些疲惫，明天还有一堆任务压着，所以没能100%享受。
甘斯布居然演高中生的妈了！而且是更年期遇到青春期那种，但即使片中自嘲的怨妇状态，也满满文艺范儿，诠释巴黎的人间烟火，以及如何历练着优雅老去。三个大孩子的成长迷惑和阵痛故事没太多新意，好看在于讲述的细腻。
