The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 这个剧场版，会让人联想到，春日部防卫队五人组长大以后会不会渐行渐远。。惆怅

对于特定人群的动画片，做得非常好了，大人小孩，各有各的看点，且不违和。结尾那句正经又无厘头的“我在想日本的未来”，结合片中的学英文、精英教育算法，是对过于慕强的日本人一种算不上反思的怂怂提醒吧，也许他们大哥在疫情中的表现让他们察觉到了什么。
新的剧场版果然画面清晰多了。努力的人总是值得他人尊敬的。自己的青春要努力把握好，不要让自己后悔呀。
真的太喜欢小新了，风间你这个傲娇受也只有小新能受得了你。他们是终于幼儿园升小学了么😂
雄狮少年之后又被感动到了，春日部防卫队最新燃作——你的菊花，值得被爆！
我覺得這部劇場版有競爭奧斯卡最佳動畫的潛力....
成年人都搞不懂的东西，被“愚蠢”的小新看透了，为什么一定要做“精英”呢？为什么一定要活在别人的期待里呢？做个普普通通的人多好
四星半。打破次元壁的dying message就代表这部剧场版的特质：以本格推理作为承载主体，将本格推理元素（可能还能算上日常推理元素）、漫画文化语境、永恒青春主题、现实社会的科幻隐喻多方面高度融合的巧思之作。脱离蜡笔小新的框架，抛去原作的各种梗，都依然是不可多得的优秀作品。

什么是青春呢？青春是铁面具，是恋爱，是闪闪发亮，是自卑感，是后悔，是人情世故，是孤独，是狂欢，是曾经拥有，是此时此刻。又燃又温馨，夹杂着正统但是不正经的本格推理，真的很美好啊。
我家小新也是能喊出青春是“fire”的男人了，不愧是你野原新之助。
走马灯的平台和字幕组，每周一约偶尔缺席，小新陪着我走完青春进入中年。真羡慕这个永远五岁用お尻思考的笨蛋小孩。剧场版虽不是每一部都很好磕，但基本维持在必刷否则抱憾的水准。恋爱中的阿呆和不良おにぎり，耳蜗依旧是风间的软肋(这个CP梗我是看不厌的)，经常写リアルおままごと脚本的妮妮推理能力果然厉害👍 灰常日式的热血风，令人笑着笑着就开始拭泪了😭
8.5 才知道原来给PP打码是台版才有的，而且这次打的不是动感超人，而是蜡笔……
