The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 现实主义的小人物题材，战斗力满满的创业小队，将创业之路的艰难险阻得以诠释。影片从理想主义的角度出发，从现实角度去解读创业之路，因此让我们有理由相信，只要相信奇迹，无论是普通打工人还是创业的领导，都可以创出属于自己的一片天。

我会觉得《药神》更惊艳，可能题材也比较新颖。这一次的故事前面比较好，后面有点点匆匆结尾。但整体来看，仍然是好的。

让小白兔玩弄大灰狼，让下位者操纵上位者，让肮脏的泥沙逆流而上——游戏规则就是弱者要让强者流泪。来入场，来玩，来扮猪吃虎；来疯，来厮杀，来撕碎耻辱撕碎恐惧撕碎这所有一切。一起在天亮时化成灰吧，让我们也流芳百世。
节奏紧凑，完整度非常高的好电影，前半部分轻松喜剧，后半部分让人捏一把汗，小女孩演技太好了，国产励志类型片的上乘之作，唯一不足就是缺少让人眼前一亮的某一刻出现。
喜欢文牧野 一个把寻常故事拼接成奇迹的作者
四字演的真不错，文牧野也不容易了，把命题作文拍成这样，还留下了几处蝼蚁的意象，也尽可能用现实主义视角，及格了。
剧情你都猜得到，但是还是被这种微小又坚韧的力量打动，被小角色间那一点善意打动……演员们真的都演得太好了啊
一直在等色情内容的我，最终欣赏了一段坎大师的feminine depiction of obscure sexual desire.
非常治愈，非常温暖的一部励志片。从一开始就被主演牵着心，为他们哭为他们笑，也为最后的成功而满心欢喜！太好了，大年初一被治愈，希望今年一年有奇迹。对了，最后被四字弟弟狠狠帅了一脸😍😍

催泪片滚出春节档！挺工整，四字演得也挺好，但总感觉有点薄弱
最柔弱的往往也最锋利，最无声筹谋的克制耐力才能呈现刀不血刃的温柔围猎。如弓弦紧绷的悬疑氛围始终被坎皮恩的调度操纵张驰起伏。半支烟，一道伤，男性世界准入的默契开放是反客为主的请君入瓮。西部荒蛮世界压抑难言的同性成长教育隐晦串起绳结纪事，衬衫残片，他的心之囚，他的战利品。越泅水溺毙于往事，越竖起恶意高墙狺狺狂吠，犬山淡影成为雄性气质的神秘符号，在阳刚与阴柔的往复交锋，参照与摹仿中暴烈的谜域逐渐被拆解归原。窥伺的幼兔面具下是猎人犬牙，野兽失守袒露脆弱肚腹，权力交接一瞬家族秘符就此传递。声效推到满格，画面堆满翕动的暧昧光影形成连绵不绝压迫神经的悚然波纹。拨弄梳齿与琴弦的对照迫力，裁切纸张和晾晒牛皮交映的震颤秩序，雪白芦苇的斑斑血痕…阉割、肢解、焦炙纸花坠入病态污名，那便以血液绽放的死亡花束回之以礼。
结局的理想化减弱了过程的艰辛，除了结局，整部影片很写实很细节，有点强行煽情（逼我流泪），不知道为什么，看电影时候总有种很刻意的感觉。背景音乐都还挺好听的。
文牧野再次证明了他对情感戏的细腻与成熟，在标准化的剧本流程下，呈现依旧亮眼。易烊千玺是个好演员，真的。致敬奋斗者，我不得不戴上口罩掩饰自己哭过的痕迹。
虽然批评泄露资源，但还是立马看了。作为这半年个人最佳，肯定会像《金属之声》那样，影展大银幕上补票再看。在到处都是可断臂之山的蒙大拿（虽然限于制片成本，是在新西兰南岛奥塔哥和但尼丁拍摄），简姨既回眸了自己的《钢琴课》，让卷福操起班卓，对话嘲讽了邓斯特的拙劣拉德斯基进行曲钢琴；又在马鞍上”以你的名字呼唤我“。个人擅长表达的隐秘情感和挚爱的西部经典，都完美地统一再现。剧作上的人物特质突出，时间配比得当，几个明星也跟着出色完成了工作。卷福”体弱是罪，别成罪犯“的自律和密林中压抑的秘密，邓斯特让场面嫉妒尴尬的表情，傻白甜的杰西普莱蒙，娘炮残忍的科蒂，直接摆出来，就有了隐藏从外到内炭疽病威胁的农场故事。
同时全片的类型片打法都很“韩国”，尤为明显是那场工厂打斗戏，但这也不是缺点，能把韩国类型片的打法消化运用至此，文牧野未来可期
没人能抵御这种底层小人物的温热，虽然对套路化的情节设计做到了比较完整舒适的呈现，但依然没有逃脱刻意煽情，取悦于初级观众的弊端。日韩的同类型电影，已经可以将情感融化在最日常表达中，而非单独拎一块出来彰显情感，这也是目前这类华语电影面临最重要也最需要解决的问题
