The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 悬疑紧张足有余，前因后果无厘头，心存警惕常态化，化险为夷方能渡。
在被强奸，被杀，被消失之前，多少女孩子是把希望寄托在男朋友，丈夫，警察身上？这电影值得一看！悲剧发生时就来不及了。
女主在要遭到追踪者的杀害时反戈一击。/陪同男友在异国生活的女主，语言不通，陷入危险境地，本质上还是男友的不重视。
感觉故事里主要人物们情感流露的分寸感很好!
找回生物本能的大女人，不过前面看得我很不爽
从一个女性受害者的视角切入，将还没受害前的惊恐害怕，没人相信自己的绝望，面对变态的无力感刻画的淋漓尽致，这也是为什么最后的枪响虽然俗套却让人如释重负。 不过整个剧情还是太薄，作为一部电影并没有很好的撑满一个半小时。

话说，一个人到不熟悉的地方语言不通应该会崩溃滴吧
三星半吧，怎么接连看了两部恐男片。真感觉能体会女性恐惧的还得是女性，能拯救的还得是自己。
半夜看了睡不着。男主那嘴巴，一看就不是善茬。
所以说男人们为什么总是否定女人的直觉！！！！

从一开始就是孤立无援的状态，异国他乡语言不通，到典型的女性困境“我觉得你想多了”、女性互相相信、和受害者有罪论。很典型的片子。几处视听处理都很好，但有点点拖并且结尾拉了
表现力不太行啊…这种客观剧情发展少、主要靠情绪和感官渲染心理的片子在视觉语言和叙事角度上都太中规中矩了所以缺点特别明显…女性异乡人这个设定也挺老生常谈的，一定是“男”导演吧（白眼）。靠着结局好不容易出来点彩的戛然而止多加一颗心。
各种主角找死的恐怖片 我是真能一路骂到底
节奏非常非常一般，气氛不错但是也没有特别不错，中规中矩吧，女主那条灰色的丝绸裙子还挺好看，那个杀手的形象确实很阴森诡异，这大概是这部电影的唯一亮点了。
语言不通的环境真的会把人逼疯。地铁上的“凶手自白”差点让我觉得凶手另有其人了，看到后面才反应过来塑料袋里是什么，真的好可怕……氛围很微妙，是那种会让人寒毛直立的惊悚。结尾稍微有一点不合理。不要住对面楼距很近的房子，以及一定要拉窗帘好吗！
开篇觉得拍的不行演的不行剪的不行故事也不行，逐渐觉得演的还行，b级惊悚小片拍的也还凑合，剪的也还凑合，故事甚至也算能看了。。尤其最后的装死（虽然很大可能这算是设计的反转）但我真是一直从很早之前就想什么被勒脖子，被打晕，被嗨，总之不是被一枪爆头这种死的不能再彻底的，都可以先装自己死了啊，完事再趁对方放松警惕反杀，可是电影里尤其是勒脖子这一手勒到发现你不动了就放松大喘气、这时候趁机反杀啊真的是，最最后结尾的凝视也不错，无论看不看观众这些都算是小伎俩了可以，介于最近没看啥好片，正常很勉强还行的片子我打算给个日后再看
