The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 尽管它依旧是以俗套的叙事方式，但是从快速剪辑、加菲的奇思妙想的表演与这一代人的困惑给这部电影纳入了新的生命。
如果不是偶然接触到老师的“电影与世界六十年代”课程，我可能一辈子也不知道这部电影和这段历史。我无数次回想起2018年底开始看这堂课，进而偏执狂地搜寻有关老师的一切课程和演讲录像(感谢B站)，发表的文章，演讲稿和书，并开始艰难地阅读她那些澎湃的长句和其实有些艰涩的文章(长期阅读自媒体推文而自食恶果)，这期间我经历转岗，工作瓶颈，封锁，失业，可我仍时常觉得自己无比幸运。原来一大半友邻都跟我差不多嘛看完电影我也在想，这是导演第一次做电影，向一个陌生的领域进攻，花了很多的时间只为一个故事，就像Arikan教授二十年的钻研，总之这是一条充满人文温度的作品。
一开场Jon Larson介绍自己是音乐剧编剧时声称one of the last my species，到如今LMM把他的故事搬上银幕，this movie is a love letter from one Musical-theater writer to another.
rent的诞生背景在此
这种人社会里有不少，可惜能冒尖的真是凤毛麟角；有人为他树碑立传，也不枉他人世走一圈了。
剧情主线单薄，剧中剧的表现形式有帮助避短但效果有限；加菲很努力但这片像音乐剧的感觉还是大大重于像电影，他也像在演剧而不是电影。
歌和剧情不是特别搭 有出戏 90年代和LGBT又是点到为止 甚至没有特别好听的歌 一般！
周日在咖啡馆喝咖啡的SB懒癌，忽悠卖货的无良广告商，前女友哄一哄就好，房租水电别断我马上续费，好基友的逝世，以及要连续不断的创作才能期待卖出作品。这就是剧作家对过往创作史的狠狠吐槽。30了又如何？功成名就的前夜，只是35就挂了，人生真是充满遗憾。7.7
他英年早逝，并且他成功了，不然还是“往长远看”好一些吧，毕竟这种在做好年华绽放出最灿烂烟花的人，只属于那几百万分之一

看到一个充满自由、激情和才华的灵魂！这世上怎么会有这样的命运啊。表现忙碌焦躁的周日餐馆和与女友吵架的两段好精彩，尽显音乐剧的魅力。在对创作背景一无所知的情况下《吉屋出租》的音乐就能打动我，真的非常了不起！

一部由遗憾组成的电影。与女友分道扬镳的遗憾，与朋友天人两隔的遗憾，与成功一步之遥的遗憾，汇集成这个温暖又心酸的故事
why do you write like you're running out of time...
「音樂劇」部分密集但印象深的音樂卻不多；「電影」部分的劇情和拍法都乏善可陳，ending的友情線高潮顯然比整部戲的愛情戲要可觀得多。整部戲主要靠剪輯上舞台與戲劇的對切塑造節奏，相信做成舞台劇其實會更有感染力。
