The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 第二部的孤狼变成了卧底老弟和嗜血上林，而日冈是逐狼猎手。最终boss互殴的时候居然扇耳光也太好笑了吧
惊艳了，村上虹郎
这也太虎头蛇尾了，前期塑造了这么一个无视规则的反派，结果所谓的开战就这？少了第一部大叔们撑场面，年轻演员演技、气场不足的问题一下子全暴露出来了。唯二两点，龙谷源治附体得主角，铃木的反派，看完才反应过来是那个变态假面，这个演员是个宝藏。
故事一眼看到头，演员男一男二都有点出戏，但是画面调色和摄影很棒很喜欢，本身比较吃这类悬疑片吧
是被画风吸引的、故事和节奏真的好俗、慢，哎
变态杀人魔疯子，是真的残暴。警察黑帮勾结，小人物誓死捍卫心中正义！
导演太沉迷于自己的暴力不美学了 剧情张力不够唉 仔细想想前作也是役所广司撑起来的 村上虹郎真可爱啊
我有病 连看两集 村长 和我们渡部老师长得好像！
一直看日本黑帮片，这部是最好的，和韩国黑帮片比不逊色，暴力尺度也相当大
画面还行，人物塑造比较失败，比如说队长吧，感觉得出导演是有点想往廖凡那个方向塑造，结果是大多数时候看起来就像一条疯狗。
6分，还是无间道边缘人的戏法，不过几个演员都很出彩，白石和弥快成为大卫o拉塞尔了，特别捧演员，松坂桃李终于剪去标志性的长刘海了，第一眼都以为是小栗旬。两个男配也很出彩。
比第一部略差一些，反派杀人跟吃西瓜一样简单随意。

没有了役所广司，靠村长硬撑起一整部片有点费劲，但作为极道类型片，依然拍得有滋有味，希望这个系列不要停。
Ps:摄影、故事都挺好的。通过日记插叙了很多二女舞蹈师徒挚友的往事，又多又长，没有很好的配合查案主线，节奏沉闷，反转乏力。有点可惜。
Korou No Chi: Level 2
很一般，看的昏昏欲睡，日本的混混只会装逼吗，咋咋呼呼喊打喊杀，一抬手各个都是战五渣，人站面前开枪打不中，开枪前先大喊一声提醒对方，难怪那个反派能混的那么大呢，在这群人堆里想混不出头都难，这片里除了那个反派老大，别的黑帮混混放到中国北方二十年前的学校斗殴里都没有赢的份儿
从驾车追逐戏和两场单挑中能看出，日系黑帮片在节奏和戏点处理上不如韩系黑帮片。一如上一部特具年代感，但总体还是缺少些东西。主角想游弋黑白之间，但很多思考方式和行为动机显得并不聪明，全片下来人物立得比较模糊。倒是反一够疯够BT，立志复仇看不惯当代生意化解仇恨的休战。时代在变，终究难挽回。
第一部还能说得过去，第二部真的不能理解
几乎没有网大的感觉，和石黑一雄的书有相同的精神内核，一个人真的可以成为别人吗？不苛求的话，所有部分都做的很好，旧日的年代感，电影中不断涌现的哀伤情绪，这只是导演的第二部作品，未来不可限量，五星鼓励。本质是一部文艺剧情片，悬疑的部分也解释的足够，最后的反转可以说是一个不在场证明的经典例子了。
